Ok, I've added a few sound-offs for previous albums from Moneen.

To put it into perspective with their last couple of albums, the rating sequence is 3.5 - 4 - 3 (this). So yeah, this is a step back.

^^^ Yep, that's another goodie off 'The Red Tree'. That is the fantastically titled opener 'Don't Ever Tell Locke What He Can't Do'. Great song.

"i see the long titles are not present anymore..." Correct. Another sign of growing up I guess!

"this was okay prob a 3" Damn, I could have just written that as my whole review. LOL.

I like how when a band loses a good share of their intensity and simplify their sound, it's 'maturing'.

I can see where you are coming from hykinix & agree that one shouldn't generalize. BUT in this case, I believe it is that. I guess it depends on where the band is coming from in the first place (ie: what type of music they play) & with the almost (for want of a better word) "careless" style Moneen used previously, it's not as easy as one would think to replicate that once a band ages & matures.

This game is called: 'You scratch my back & I'll scratch yours'. Haha

Yeah, Moneen are indeed that band. It was a split EP where each band recorded songs from the other band. It was interesting too as the 2 groups aren't all that similar, even though there is a touch of post-hardcore in Moneen's earlier releases.

Ooh Dougie, what you suggest sounds rather technological of Sputnik. I don't cope well with such technological advances. I still listen to my music with a boombox and socialise by phoning people... with one of those phones that has a chord connected to the wall & where you have to dial by putting your finger on a number & moving it to a specified point.

(50% of people on Sputnik just thought "wtf is he talking about?")

Caleb, as you have clearly guessed, I need to hide my secret identity as it could cause significant financial loss for me in the real world. Valamir is only another pseudonym I use, so please don't be fooloed thinking I'm some kind of Russian spy. Not today anyway.
