I've listened to about half of this, and I'm not really feelin' it yet. Some of the "gangsta" rhymes are just sounding a little bit forced to me. Who knows, though, I may end up liking it a lot (I have a feeling it might grow on me).

this rules so hard. Flying Daggers and New Wu are my favourite tracks, probably cause I have a penchant for Meth

Everyone from the Wu is pretty much on the top of their game. This just gets better every time I listen.

it's astonishing how well the wu performs here. if i didn't know better, i'd think that rae and ghost were still in their early 20s.
busta rhymes still sucks though.

"Pyrex Visionz" is one of my favorite under one minute songs ever, Rae manages to fit so much detail, and his narcoleptic flow manages to work here.

pyrex visionz is amazing. i love snippets of songs, like the Ghostface songs Barbershop and Beauty Jackson off of Fishscale and the two interludes on UGK 4 Life.

Since no one decided to check it out and respond on the other review, I'll say it again:
Um, I got a conspiracy theory about this record..
Listen to Have Mercy on this disc, and then right after listen to Say Hey by Atmosphere. They're the exact same beat, piano sample, drum loops, bass line -- even the vocal sample in the chorus is the exact same (execpt they use a longer version of it on Raekwon's).
Don't believe me? Listen again. Atmosphere's song came out over 4 years ago. To top it off, check this out:
10 Bricks (of OB4CL2) starts with the line, "rappers steppin' to me, they want a brick son."
In 1998, Atmosphere released a song off Lucy Ford called Guns and Cigarettes. The first line in that song is, "rappers steppin' to me, they wanna get some." I realize Big Daddy Kane said it first, but still.
Coincidence? Hard to buy that. I'm not hating on this album, I think it's one of the best (if not the best) rap/hip-hop disc of the year. I'm just wondering if that was intentional, and if it was -- what the fuck is Raekwon doing listening to Atmosphere?

i wouldnt be surprised if raekwon listened to atmosphere

It's not that I think Atmosphere's bad, in fact, I used to list Atmosphere as my favorite hip-hop group (in my younger days). It's just that Raekwon was around before Atmosphere and is a totally different type of hip-hop... I dunno, I guess it's not that surprising. Maybe I'm more surprised that he used an Ant beat than anything.
