Yeah, but its metalcore & I haven't fall into that abyss yet. If there is more harsh vocals than cleans, then I'm going to struggle. Simple as that really.

Well considering that there are about 15 seconds of clean vocals on the entire album, you might struggle a lot.

Listen to some converge for 20mins. Then listen to this. Should actually help you if you struggle with screaming.

Davey, this album contains the only harsh vocals that I legitimately love and don't just tolerate.

Saw these guys yesterday with Parkway Drive and Architects. They were fantastic, i got a photo with the drummer. They didn't play Mariana's Trench though

Oooh, that's tempting Caleb.

I'm not against harsh vocals. I like them when they are used as a secondary technique. The perfect example is Emery. But if it's 95% harsh, then I think it may be too much.

Caleb, what distinguishes these harsh vocals from others in your opinion?

I was attempting to have an actual discussion as to why Caleb considers Luhrs the only harsh vocalist he enjoyed

That's dandy and all, but your conversation-initiater was a bit condescending. Really, I'm terribly hurt, bro.

but..but what about spencer chamberlain and tim lambesis?....I consider them both better then Luhrs, though I do think he's good.

Spencer Chamberlain has terrible, terrible lows but is an emotive vocalist, I'll give him that.

Redd, okay. Surely.

I guess to each their own...though its amazing how many terrible harsh vocalists there are in the music world

i think luhrs vocals are not outstanding nor are they generic, they just fit the music so well that they become something really enjoyable
