not a great album. get off your boots if like vertigo part 2, magnificent (meh), i'll go crazy if i don't go crazy tonight is just a plain old U2 routined song, and they totally used the "baby, baby..." part from ultraviolet light. the fuck?. and the blackberry commercial is laughable, god this band just uses any excuse to make money and now they want a rockband...shutup.

I agree that this is a pretty spot-on review. Not anything too prolific on this new record at all and it really does sounds like a band winding down and running out of ideas FAST. At this point I think U2 should release their 'Songs of Ascent' this year (which by the sounds of it will be more or less B-Sides from NLOTH, in other words like NLOTH it'll be another release of B-Sides) and then they should finish their overbloated tour and focus the next few years on making one big LAST album. That's right, end on a high note and really put together the next Joshua Tree/Achtung Baby and RETIRE! I'm a big fan of this band and I really don't want to see them go out like this, releasing one yawn after another of an album.

I found this album to be a lot less poppier then some of their last few albums until Get On Your Boots blasts out of nowhere and makes me puke in my throat. Moment Of Surrender and Cedars of Lebanon is grade A U2.
