^Nope, I'm actually a god-like being who is incapable of being wrong. Consequently Nirvana has to be the worst band ever created if I say so.
^^^ sorry, I meant to say they named her AFTER Famer, I'll fix it now.
another mistake: They did NOT name her after frances farmer, they named her after a band member of the Vaselines and if she would have been a boy, it would have been Eugene, But Kurt Did wish thats he and Courtney named her after Farmer....

In utero is no doubt one of Nirvana's best works, Kurt's raw power and emotion on his guitar and in his voice is simply amazing. An all around good album even "Very ape" and "tourettes". so i give it a 5/5. :thumb:

In Utero, not better than Nevermind, but better than Bleach and Incestcide. What I like about this CD is that the distortion and guitar are much heavier. I can't describe the sounds with words. It's...raunchy and violent. The lyrics are really well done, for example in All Apologies "I am free as a bird, choking on the ashes of a remedy." The songs are really well done, I think Kurt was purposely trying to get his work out of the mainstream, and the album sold well. Though, some songs were too much like "Tourettes" but still they're good. You can really hear the power chords in "Heart Shaped Box" and "Frances Farmer will have her revenge on Seattle", btw, Frances Farmer was a famous actress I believe. Anyway, their lyrics are more controversial which made the songs more interesting, like "Rape me" which he uses for how he feels about the media. His songs were more melodic but still heavy, a very well done album by one of the best bands of the 90's and probably of all time. 4.5/5

In Utero is my favorite Nirvana album.

And I agree that 'Very Ape' could very well be the lowest point of the album. But 'tourettes', 'Scentless Apprentice', and 'Milk It' are some of the songs I like a lot on this album!

This album in it's entirety is excellent.

4.9/5 :thumb:

thats all crap their not grunge there just some syle of some music whatever,
if u play their music u`ll know, believe me,

He got up every day with such joy that there was another day to be had. He was so enthusiastic. He would come out of the bedroom so excited that there was another day ahead of him and he couldn't wait to find out what it was going to bring him.

okay, that guy who said punk started in the 90's is a major ****face..i mean seriously..he must have **** for brains, as some other members have said, punk started in the 70's with bands like the Ramones (one of my personal favorite bands) but anyways..i would give the whole album a 4/5 i also think that tourette's is an awesome song, but i think that the BEST song has to be..rape me..i think that this song is greatly overlooked, i think the worst song on this album had to be heart-shaped box..i'm sorry if i piss anyone off, but that's just my personal opinion

Best on that album is All Apologies no doubt. The Kurt wrote songs like "Milk It", "Very Ape" and especially "Tourrettes" to:

a) Let out angst

b) Make In Utero a darker, less radio friendly album so he would loose alot of his fanbase. Kurt didn't like alot of his fans because they only liked the more "popy" songs and not the songs that were from Nirvana's roots, like the stuff on Bleach. So by adding those songs alot of his panzy fans stopped liking Nirvana, when the true Nirvana fans loved In Utero.

Owning Bleach, Nevermind and In Utero, I would say Nevermind is their best piece of work though. Just because every song on Nevermind is just as good and solid as the last, while on In Utero there are songs alot better than others. But Nirvana's best songs lie in In Utero.

All these kids that are thinking that Nirvana are punk are smoking crack. They're in no way, shape, or form punk. They're grunge, and in my opinion the epitome of grunge (although Sonic Youth and Silverchair are very good). Ok, so Kurt & Co. liked 80's punk, but they didn't play it. Also whoever said Nirvana was before punk was also wrong. Nirvana was in the middle of it. Punk has been around since the late 70's. Jesus Christ these people should actually knwo what they're talking about before they post it...

I just listened to this cd again today on a road trip. I hadn't listened to Nirvana in ages, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

I recently listened to Unplugged. I was instantly reminded why that album is number 10 on my top 10 list. Nirvana are great.
