Side one is so much better than side two

Somehow I'm not sure that ELP neglected to play their overtly anti-religious songs live just to not offend people. First, they wrote the songs and released them on their studio albums anyway. But then Greg Lake brought up his support of evolution as a replacement for religious explanations of the origin of species in this interview from 2012, unsolicited.

My favorite ELP. The title track is incredible, and side 2 only has two weak cuts imo (Jeremy Bender and Are You Ready Eddy). Everything else is damn good

Very enjoyable album from start to finish. This might be my second favorite ELP album. Cool stuff

Brain Salad Surgery is still numero uno for me

The only thing that comes to mind when seeing Tarkus is good ol' Black Iron Tarkus from Dark Souls and that legendary video that never fails to crack me up.
But great album, sure.

About fifteen years ago I got into Dream Theater and showed my dad a couple of tunes. He was like "this reminds me of Tarkus". So he played me Tarkus and I hated it (cuz you know, like sixteen at the time). Just revisited this since the first time he played it for me and this is excellent.
