Yay for the '&' being fixed.

Rudy, I can assure you this is nothing like Kaiser Chiefs. Definitely come back here & let me know what you thought of this album when you give it a good listen.

Noooooooo! First, there must be a riot.

I think we've found the song that will be lodged in my mind for the rest of the day. Damn you Adam.

No, I refuse to do it. Instead, I'll note it and keep it in storage for when I have something much worse stuck in my head. Like Aqua or something like that.

Predictably good review Davey. Have this album somewhere in my house but I've never listened to it, I do love "Red" though.

Alligator, you should carry the avatar that Ross is currently using... You whore you.

Thanks Ross. You're not using the cd as a coaster are you? Let us know what you think when you do eventually give it a listen.

Welcome back by the way. How did the travels go?

Haha no Davey, my dad bought it randomly because it was on sale, I'm sure I'll listen to it when I get bored of all the other music I have (could be tomorrow, could be in a months time).

The travelling was great thanks, although I didn't do anywhere near as much as you did on your grand European adventure. In all honesty I've been back a week or so now; I just prolonged my sputnik hiatus a little while longer as I had got a little too dependant on this site before holidays.

I'd hoped to return with a review written, trimmed and reday for delivery but I'm sure you know as well as anyone that I'm lazy in that respect. I've started one and all, but I have no idea when it will be done. Still thought it best to return before everybody forgot about me completely so today is my re-induction of sorts.

I have just made a mental note that any time I review an embarrasing album, to use the line "my dad bought it"! Haha.

Ahhh, you have caught Sputnik Dependency Syndrome Ross. Unfortunately, there is still no known cure for this disease and I can only wish you the best in dealing with the situation. You... lazy when it comes to reviewing? Never!

No Adam, I shouldn't be. I fear that I won't like it actually. I'm already in the bad books as I'm one of those "dumb-a$$es" who prefers 'The Bends' over 'OK Computer'! In an unrelated note, hi Croc.

Right now, I'm trying as hard as possible to only listen to bands that have released albums this year.

Ok, let's take a closer look at your top 10:

Death Cab: I meant to listen to their entire discography when their last album came out, but never got around to it. I'll get to them soon'ish.

Neutral Milk Hotel: I don't think this will be my thing.

Radiohead: Will get to it soon.

Godspeed: Unsure on this. Will probably wait for their next release & then back-track

Bon Iver: One day when I'm struggling to sleep.

The Format: On my list on the back of your strong reco.

Frightened Rabbit: See Neutral Milk Hotel

Bright Eyes: See Bon Iver

The National: My fault here as I think I will like these guys. Will get to their albums soon.

Oh man, my comments are so un-Sputnik like.

Haha.

NMH would probably annoy you quite a lot.

The National I have no idea on because I always struggle for comparisons.

Frightened Rabbit are absolutely nothing like Neutral Milk Hotel, you like a fair bit of indie-rock I'd be surprised if they didn't strike some sort of chord.

Godspeed are not an easy place to arrive in post-rock-land. Maybeshewill, though, may be.

I know what you mean about trying to listen to new records. I currently have a "TO HEAR" list an A4 sheet long taped to my bedroom wall... it's ridiculous. And with new Say Anything and Brand New within months... dear me it's a busy year.

With The National, just the references to the baritone voice are enough to have me curious.

My indie-rock likes are a little more selective than my ratings make them out to be. I dislike more than I like. Having said that, your comment is noted & appreciated.

I'm still a way off getting into post rock me thinks. One day though.

And yeah, I counted the new releases I still have to listen to the other day & it was between 25 & 30. I have to add a few more as I don't like listening to new releases if I haven't heard earlier stuff by the same band. Also, ibably even worse for me as I have a few Aussie bands on my list that you probably have no idea who they are.

can't stand neutral milk hotel, oddly enough.

dog problems is a great format cd, only one I have though

and your dig on bright eyes! shame! i wasn't a fan until cassadaga but that is an epic album - plus seeing them live really hit the spot.

finally got this merriweather cd, enjoying it

Adam, it's always a pleasure to be your hijackee. In fact, take me with you when you go to Spain.
