I do think Matt Mullins' (new front-man) screams are really good on Sleepwalking. But, in no way can his clean vocals compare to Chase's (old front-man). I didn't think their EP sounded whiny; I just think it might of been Chase's high-pitched vocals. I just find their new guy, Matt, to have a very plain vocal sound to him. It just didn't sit well with me on the new album.

This is quite decent, but I can't find any of their first album non live on youtube : (

New vocalist sounds like the guy of The Used. Quite a letdown, though musically it's decent and intersting

North Atlantic Vs. North Carolina,You're Lucky Its Not 1962, and Been there, done that
are hands down my fav tracks off this album
the first two songs are just so aggressive and just get better as the song goes on and been there has my favorite chorus on the album

This release is like a southern version of UnderOaths DTGL release. The vocals have crazy similarities, especially his deep screams. Drumming techniques are almost identical too. Props cuz DTGL was one of their best albums.

I had never thought of that comparison, but now I can kind of hear some similarities. Either way, this is good, but could never hold a candle to DTGL.

Naw, Matty is the shit
|

not a bad album, kinda "poppy" though.
I hate it when people use their own ability as a musician to give themselves more authority over their own opinion. Remember kiddies, just because your a musician doesn't mean your a good one. Personally I find this predictable as fuck.

Quality is their Quantity and North Atlantic vs North Carolina are so great, as the whole album is. I hope this band finds their way after the mess that was Challenger. That album is bad.

I think the first half of Challenger is really good, but most of the second half plain sucks (starting from Miles Away)

It is. Especially with how much shit genericore gets on this site, everyone jizzes themselves over this bands newer releases.

yeah, band is much better at this genericore shit than their peers but... still is generic unfortunately.
|

Interesting to see what MMF have become. Something interesting to the generic standard. Wonder if they're truly passionate about music, thy come off as genuinely inspired but their music aside maybe from their lyrics are basic.
|

Did they just at some point go "let's become some generic risecore band" or did they switch members that were integral to songwriting? I heard the material for this album was already written when Mullins joined the band so he had no hand in it - if that's true they should keep him the fuck out of the songwriting process because everything that came after this wasn't even close.

this album is amazing. the southern edge is great. not a fan of most of their stuff after - super cheeseball/faux emotional metalcore
