This is a solid 4 so far, but I can see it becoming a 4.5 in the near future.

I got my pre order monday and i must say the whole vintage theme to the recording album is top notch. lyrically this album is poison the well on top form imo. This is probably my favorite heavy album of the past few years. very well thought out and aggressive with alot of variety. i just cant stop listening to it.

This grew on me pretty fast. By my 4th or 5th listen I was loving it. Really really really really really good album.

Actually, accompliceofmydeath (nice), Primack sings a few of the beginning lines of "Purple Sabbath" from the I/III EP.

"From a distance I stare" and "I can taste your blood from here".

As far as I know though, he doesn't do any vocals on The Tropic Rot

This didn't quite catch on to me the first few listens but I'm tempted to give it another shot once I clear some hard drive space on my computer.

It'll catch you after a few more, and once it does you'll really love it.

This album is great for two reasons. Not only is the album awesome - but it also helps me appreciate Versions a lot more than I did. I don't think anything from Poison The Well will EVER top You Come Before You for me though, and I don't mean that in an ignorant way. Just the time that record hit me and how huge it was for me really is just going to make it impossible.

I do know that one of my buddies almost completely hates today's metal (or any sub-genre of it) because of the quite similar guitar playing (I agree and disagree but it's his opinion) and I fully intend on pointing him here for the mere fact of the "outside the box" playing that these guys offer on here. Cool return and release for PT-Dub for sure.
