It's better than their last two albums. But they could have done without the clean chorus' this time round. It just didn't mesh.

well i gave this a go and listened to the album on their myspace. It is decent but definitely nothing special and lacks the zing to it. I don't know if I bother getting the album to my playlist or not. So yaah ok album, but nothing more

Cool, well like you said you haven't listened to the band that much, so the album is probably ok for you. It would be worth your while to check out their first album Alive or Just Breathing (if you haven't already), it's definitely their best.

I might as well do that in the near future. This was ok, but it kind of lacked personality or something like that and seemed a bit bland, musically it was pretty decent tbh. Yaah I haven't checked out any of their other albums just some singles and random songs so I'll get on their first album tomorrow or something, atm though I am too concentrated on the new Be'Lakor to listen to anything else (actually i do put on some Gwynbleidd once in a while, but thats all)

Didn't the band claim to be more progressive on this?
Excellent review Phantom.

Currently listening; on third song.
I actually daresay I enjoy this more than As Daylight Dies. Wait. Reckoning sounds like a leftover ADD song. *shrugs* I love Justin Foley. Getting really sick of Jones's lyrical approach. Oh well. It's Killswitch. Also, I think AOJB deserves to stand out as the band's greatest album, because Jesse felt so strongly about what he was singing/screaming, it would have been a shame for the band to try and copy that with Jones fronting the band.

Didn't the band claim to be more progressive on this?
Hmm, well it seems that they meant they had made a progression, but that isn't really very true either.
And thanks wiz, this went pretty well for my first negative review. Still waiting for some sort of fanboy backlash though, seems I've been lucky so far.

Oh the backlash will come hahaha...once I hear this album and give it a 5/5. Still going to give this a go.

I guess he loves him some Killswitch. Not Daylight Dies though, haha.

MassMetal gave this a 4.5 and it made me sick to see the original self titled at a 3 and burst lazarus bird at 2.5
