Is this that post-metal band that has some guy from a crappy metalcore band?

No, that's Trenches with the ex-Haste the Day vocalist. Trenches is still good stuff though.

Ahh, yes. I think I listened to these guys a long time ago. I feel like I need to get more essential post-metal before I get this.

As long as you have Neurosis, Isis, and Cult of Luna.

great review. I'm not getting naked, though.

just finished my first listen. Can't say that I was blown away, but it was definitely solid. I'm looking forward to keeping an eye on these guys. I do like their sound. Have to spin this a few more times, it was on the cusp of a 4.0.

Just got this today and this is pretty much my introduction to this band.I've heard the song "White Wings" from their second album and thought that was great but getting into this one is kind of a challenge so far.It's kind of weird sounding right now but I'm sure if I listen to it a lot more it'll grow on me that's what happened when I first heard Isis.The vocals on here kind of remind me of Danzig at times especially on "Means to an End".

This is certainly a grower but give yourself some time to sit down and actually listen to it.

I've read a lot people thought this album sounds like "Through Silver and Blood"and I really don't see that at all.Maybe with the drums on some parts of this album but this thing sound completely different in all ways then that album.

this is from their recent Facebook entry (last paragraph for new album news)

Don't squander your mon-ey(e):

Recently, it has come to our attention that someone took it upon themselves to record a live Minsk performance a while back. They have now uploaded this show to a website and are asking people to pay for a download. While we are honored that anyone would want to bootleg a performance of ours, and we support the bootlegging of most anything, we were never under the impression that this recording would be used for any monetary purpose. We asked them politely to remove the show from their site, and they have refused. Minsk would never expect or want anyone to use their federal reserve notes to purchase a live show of poor sound quality. If you are into low quality, one mic in the middle of the room, sorts of recordings there are plenty of those floating around for free. We’re also sure that there are plenty of good people in the real tape trading community who do this the right way. The effort to make this specific show one of high auditory and visual quality is not represented at all with this recording. If any of you have been duped into paying for this, we feel the need to apologize. Bottom line, Minsk has never released any live recordings, and we don’t plan on it at this point.

On a positive note, Minsk is currently writing new material which we are very excited about. We also plan to put the finishing touches on our fourth full-length in the coming months. Thank you all for listening.

I can't fucking wait. And about 2 years ago, I think they did call it quits but I guess Sanford is bored.
