Good bumps. Old Marduk is brilliant.

just another absolute banger, i might even like this more than those of the unlight. great variety of riffs and tempo changes. catchy ass riffs too. lots more blasting too and the production on this really pops on those drums. sounds amazing. also this dude has gotta be one of my fav bm vocalists, got a full range and great shreiks when used. sad he leaves after this one but the other two after him are well liked it seems.
sulphur souls is probably my fav, reminded me a lot of emperor especially when those synths come in at the end. so much great atmosphere on this.

This one is my fav of the first 3. The production on this one just puts it over the top. Such a massive wall of sound in a good way.

the drums especially just pop so hard. melodies are so icy and rich. sweet audible bass. it's perfect. this is like exactly how to produce a black metal album.

Agreed 100% brother. The 2 after this are good but they don't reach these highs again until Panzer Division Marduk imo.

excited to continue the journey! seems like they become less varied after this one. this and unlight really remind me of early immortal a lot but with those sharp catchy melodies that emperor has especially on anthems. the riffs are just so memorable.

Yeah the early stuff definitely has some melody that they ditch in favor of more a more blazing fast straight up bm style. They get a bit more varied again once Mortuus joins the band for Plague Angel (my fav Marduk).

weird how i always wrote them off as just blasty samey bm lol. this shit is so good. a real shame this band isn't more celebrated here! it's surprising! just pure classic shit.

They're one of my favs of all time. These guys and Dark Funeral (another personal fav) always got a bad rep and never got appreciated like Dissection, Dawn, Sacramentum, Vinterland or any of the other meloblack bands from Sweden just because they played a more straightforward style.

yeah the bad rep is so odd. and yeah i love meloblack but i also love classic norweigian bm. this and unlight are perfect combos. fairly unique sound for me but you would know better haha.

Every scene has little quirks that make them unique and this is no different. Maybe its just years and years of jamming but I can hear certain albums and just know which scene it comes from lol.
Also Futures bro you have inspired me to jam some Marduk and I love it. Turning this on right now.

Ahhhhh those are the best binges. While you're at it give Judas Iscariot a shot. One of the best/dirtiest sounding USBM bands ever with some of the greatest vocals you'll ever hear.

Distant in Solitary Night in particular is one that you most definitely have to hear. Heaven in Flames is essential also.
