Good review, but how could you not recommend The Gale

Its an awesome track (hell all of them are) but it doesnt stand out as much as the other tracks ;) This is still one of my favourite albums right now.

I'm just finishing 'Drawn To Black'. This album so far seems very good. It's definitely something that I'll have to play repeated times before I can come to a firm conclusion. A well written review as well.

Robert, your review of this album is absolutely spot on. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise. This is a five star album, end of story. I don't see how anyone who has REALLY listened to this album could rate it any lower. IMO 'ATWW' is one of the best Metal albums ever recorded. Now, at this point I may sound like an Insomnium fanboy too, but that is simply not the case. I'm not a teenager, I've been a Metal fan for 20+ years, I have over 1200 Metal albums, but this one is probably my favorite of them all. Why? Because for me it embodies every aspect of what I am looking for in a Metal album... crushing heaviness, mesmerizing melodies, outstanding lyrics, and it moves me emotionally through lyrics AND music. This album has it all. I even agree with you that 'Last Statement' is the best song on the album. It is not a song that will immediately grab you, like 'The Killjoy' does, but with repeated listens it quickly becomes THE standout track. The latter portion (4'10" on) is undoubtedly the most hauntingly beautiful piece of Metal I have ever heard. I have been listening to 'ATWW' since near its release date, and I still listen to it at least a few times a week. As I said before, IMO 'ATWW' is simply one of the best Metal albums ever recorded. And believe me, I would never nonchalantly make a statement like that. Thanks for the 'nail on the head' review.

Few bands covey such emotion that u get wrapped in the music, this is one of them albums, this album isnt just music, but it takes u on a journey filled with intense emotion
