Yeah, just saw the half time highlights which showed Bendtner's 2 goals, although Calamity James certainly helped him out.

Oh yeah, IMO it wasn't a pen and the first goal was very soft, still I'm not gonna complain at 2 - 0 haha.

Just got done with the whole Scouting For Girls album. It won't be a 1 for me, but you're right in that it's not very good. Will need to give it a few more listens in different settings but it will be anywhere between a 1.5 & 2.5... Probably a 2 (although if the repetition of the album sinks in, it could be a 1.5). The lead singer's voice just isn't very good at all and that is pretty important when you are trying to sing catchy pop!



I may have finally heard my 1 rating album the other day though and it came from a rather unlikely sourse; Girl Talk (his debut).

Ahh okay fair enough haha, to be honest I didn't really expect you to give it a 1 but yeah it is pretty crap, and I'm not gonna change my rating.

Well I can't say I've ever heard of Girl Talk but all I can say is if you don't like it then it must be bad.

I don't expect you to change your rating Ross, especialy since your review made it out as if you were expecting so much more. My expectations were lower because of your review. Who the hell is Michaela Strachan anyway? I thought he was a linebacker for the New York Giants!



Girl Talk is a one man DJ/mash-up artist who released an album last year that rated very highly around these parts and made a few year-end lists. From what I can make out, he improved a lot over the years.

Ahh I dunno, parts of it just don't seem to work very well, it'll only be a minor edit. I don't think I'll get more savage towards it, but yeah it'll still be a 1.

I wouldn't concern yourself too much about it Ross. I don't think I've ever gone back to majorly edit reviews... More just changing around the order of recommended tracks, if anything.

Yeah might not change any content, but I really want all my reviews to have the same format, as I doubt I'll change it from now on; I'm happy with how my reviews look now :-)

Right now, the main thying I am concentrating on with my reviews is to keep them to no longer than 6 paragraphs. Looks like I will succeed with the one I am working on for tonight, but I usually fail with that objective.

Haha yeah i think 5/6 is a good length, although with your shorter paragraphs I think you get away with having more. My next review should be up either tonight or tomorrow too, I have most of it done - the second Boy Kill Boy album - wanna guess the rating?

Hmm, the fact that you have asked me the question leads me to believe it won't be in the 2-3 range, so I'm guessing either 1.5 or 4. From memory, you said they were overly derivative on their debut and in almost every case, British bands get worse on their follow-up, so I'll go with 1.5...

People don't notice that??? I'm sure they do, not that it matters; a good review is a good review.

I agree with you re:length. Sure, many around here skim through reviews on first read, but when one comes back to a review in the future, the extra detail is hopefully appreciated.
