Psh, I read the review. I'm just skeptical and forgetful of Def Leppard.

The ratings graph is shit, much like the album.
Also, Phil Collins >>>>>>>> Phil Collen

well I now read the whole review Davey. I did read it already yesterday, but I was terribly sick and only got to the half-point mark and after seeing that there is a whole half more, I quit ( like I said, I was really, really sick and torpid). Also I do think that the new review page layout is HORRIBLE, i hate it! It makes reviews harder to read imo and the design is bad and it lacks colors. So combine that with a horrible sickness and you should understand why i just couldn't finish reading it.
Today on the other hand, as I am all fine again (rather quick I know, but that's me haha), it was a very nice read. You explained well why this is a 5 in you're eyes and made a very solid review overall, I'm happy to give you a vote.
Def Lepard although isn't my thing I'm afraid. I don't really remember the sound of them too well (I know that my dad used to listen to a lot of their works when I was smaller), but the small bits I do remember aren't too encouraging. Seemed too cheesy and poppy for my tastes, so sorry, but there shall be no 5 from me. But it was a good read anyway!

Their last album that was good in any way IMO. I still like it quite a bit. Good review

The drumming is really great on here. tbh, that's it. Vocals sound like every scrap of emotion has just been forced imo, and there's a point where you have to stop pretending that you just sound like Bon Scott naturally. Rest of the stuff = boring, apart from the songwriting that's boring AND cheesy. But, to be fair, there's worse to be found in the 80's. This has a fair few decent-ish songs, and if you remove the power ballads you've got a good-to-great album.
That said, great review as always, but still... bleeeeeeeegh to the album. This Message Edited On 04.28.09

Croc, we shall call it 'The Pillar of Truth'.
Caleb, there is no need to be skeptical of Def Leppard. How much more stand-up can you get than not booting out a one-armed drummer?
DavID, ratings graphs don't lie. And listening to 'Hysteria' is like another day in paradise for us all.
Thanks metalstyles. I hope you're back to 100% now. "cheesy & poppy"; Yeah definitely, especially a few songs. But they have their heavier moments also and if you are interested in those and don't mind a more late 70's metal sound, than I do recommend giving 'Pyromania' or 'High N Dry' a listen.
Thanks Conor. I still enjoy a bit of their later stuff, but it's nowhere near this level.
Oh come on Spamue1; "Decent"? 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' may be cheesy, but it's better than decent. Ditto for 'Animal' & 'Armageddon It'. Surely? As for removing the power ballads, we definitely disagree on that. 'Love Bites' is arguably the best power ballad ever & the title track is pretty darn good to. Oh well, to each their own and thanks for still enjoying the review as I know you prefer my reviews of lower rated LPs.

Now Kane, 13 of 344 people rated Souljaboytellem a 5.
29 of 108 people have rated Hysteria a 5.
In percentage terms, that's 3.8% against 26.9%. That's a fair difference.
You may think we're sheep, but at least we are not SWINE... Roasted swine.

k well think about it this way everyone in the world uses sputnik and only 29 of them see this as a classic
|
| |
That's 7.16666667 × 10-^10 percent of all people who think this is a classic.
So, according to rule of Kane, 0.0000000000071666667%. This Message Edited On 04.28.09

No-one should take cock rock seriously. You'll start saying Slippery When Wet was a classic next.

Oh my God, everyone in the world uses Sputnik? (Davey looks around.) Hell, you're right. I take it all back Kane.
There is a 'Rule of Kane'? He'll be pleased to know that. Unsure that the rest of the world will though.
Why should no-one take c0ck rock seriously DavID? Because you said so? Or because most say so? Us so-called sheep can think for ourselves. You swine do what you want.
Checks up 'Slippery When Wet'. 8/90 = 8.9%. It's excellent, but no 'Hysteria'.

Why should no-one take c0ck rock seriously DavID?
Because it was a goofy fucken trend, man. Do you think Rick Astley looks back on his career and image in the 80s with pride?
