lol ok so im the guy you wanted to punch in the face for giving this a 2.5 (which isnt even a "bad" score); i hadnt read your review until just now...its been a couple months, just want to say this album still doesnt captivate me
so the big problem is that youve overrated carnavas so immensely that you gave this at least a 4 by default.
sure the album gives a depressed mood (yet somehow challenges us to dance?? i guess??), but what separates this from in utero, ok computer, or even mellon collie (which also kinda sucked) is that those albums had reasons to be tortured, while this just sounds like those albums for the sake of hacking that sound in the attempts to get guys like you to think theyre the second coming. why does aubert wail like he does? does he give a reason? is it a failed relationship? i have no clue, and i dont think anyone can find one. find me an original thought here, or even an unoriginal one that hasnt been done better by dozens of other bands. its OKAY, nothing more, nothing less. i cant believe people found this "ground-breaking"
