Oooh, good reason upagainstthewall. My excuse is that my better half always watches it. I'm in another room but can hear it. And Muse are still on hiatus.
Ross, we'll be in Barca for 2 nights & days. I think they may have finished their football season by then though, so probably no Messi for me.
LOL at "footie".

Ahh tis a shame about the football, but thres still plenty to do there :-)

I'm certain we'll find plenty of things to do there and everywhere else Ross. Soccer (sorry, football) wise, I'm actually spewing that we leave on the Europe tour on the day Fulham play Everton. It would have been pretty cool to see Timmy Cahill run riot in London.
Nintendo sounds like he'd give his left nut to see Thierry, Lionel & Co...
|

sure would.
though it wouldve been cooler to see messi deco and ronaldinho, but thats all in the past now i guess.
that sucks about you missing a premier league match , painfulllll.
especially one of the very few an aussie would be involved in

I saw Barcelona win 3-0 against Osasuna in 2006 when Ronaldinho scored one and E'too two. Great game.
Anyway, we invented football in the UK so idk why they changed the name in Australia & the US to soccer. I mean American & Australian football is more like bloody Handball if you ask me.

Album is better than 3.5, but yeah good review as usual.

Agreed

this band is pretty unremarkable in every way. just an average pop/melodic punk band
|

THANKYOU.
i could never justify giving them higher than a 2.5 for anything they do

This is a great album but I like Siren Song a little better. Torches is probably my 2nd favourite song by them though.

BURN HIM.
A) for blasphemy and B) for calling them "pop".

Good review as usual davey. Rise Against are on a long list of bands Im promising myself i'm gonna check out soon. Btw, is being a contributor basically just like being a higher ranked user, or is there more important stuff as well, just I've been thinking about applying. It's not like I'm gonna get it anyways, I've not done anywhere near enough reviews yet, but I'll definitely go for it next time.

At least in Aussie Rules, we use our feet to score. In fact, SOCCER has probably had one more goal scored by hand as compared to Aussie Rules. Thanks for that Mr. Maradona!
ThriceRemoved, I have actually already reviewed 'Siren Song' & 'Sufferer' some time mid last year, so there is no wait for you to read them. Of course, I wasn't exactly at the height of my reviewing prowess way back when.
Thanks Cesar. And yes, "blasphemy" by kitsch indeed. There is definitely nothing "poppy" about this particular album, that's for certain.
Thanks Ali. I'm certain you'll like something about Rise Against... It's just a matter of whether you prefer their more accessible later stuff or their punkier/more hardcore earlier releases. As for being a Contributor, it is pretty much like being a higher ranked user and being the next step to becoming staff. The mods/staff don't necessarily ask me to do any more, but I guess they keep an eye out for consistent & improving reviews as well as overall site contribution.

yeah but that wasn't really a legit goal.
