i agree that the jumping around styles (within the metal bracket) is very cool. it just makes the listen more interesting

That intro drum pattern is fucking insane. Extremely simple but so catchy and heavy at the same time. And yeah I thought giving this album a 2 wasn't the wisest decision either.

Awake, To Erase a Lifetime, and Old Days Born Anew are the best here.

TesseracT playing this style of metal better than Textures, I don't think so...

Hasn't TesseracT released just three songs as of now? On effort alone Textures should deserve more respect than TesseracT, sheesh, three full length albums compared to three songs, I don't exactly follow the logic here...

The progressive and melodic elements aren't exactly cloned aspects of Meshuggah and they aren't useless by any means...

To use an example that I know well, SikTh is not a clone of The Dillinger Escape Plan because they both have dualing guitarists that shred throughout an assortment of time signatures and playing styles. Textures is not a carbon copy of Meshuggah by any stretch of the imagination. Both examples feature significant differences in vocals and subtle differences in the rhytm section and guitars, neither are rip-offs, that's for sure.

I completely disagree with this ridiculous review.

What a joke. It's like you didn't listen to the album more than once or have no soul.

Don't understand why everyone is saying these guys are Meshuggah clones. I don't see the comparison other than using djent influences in their music. To be honest, they seem a little more well rounded than Meshuggah.
