I really loved Spheres and even C-187 so resurrection Mabre is an amazing album to my ears.

The production on this album kills it. The riffs sound good, the drumming sounds good, the vocals sound good, but it all sounds way too sterile. Basically: oldschool dm needs muddy ass production to get the right atmosphere across.

Yeah, that's the only thing that bugs me, NMF wouldn't have been as good if it had this kind of production.
These guys made a mistake, but the new version of Lost Souls is sick @ss!

Yeah, the remakes of their older songs are awesome. Who is this NMF you speak of?

Aw, that makes sense. I've never heard them but if they're trying to emulate old-school death metal then I guess they would shoot for a muddy production to keep things authentic.
If you consider this band trying to make a comeback after 16 years, though, the last thing they'd probably want to do is make an album that in any way makes them seem dated or out of touch with the current metal scene. So, they almost had to go for a big, slick production.

i started reviewing the new napalm death, but obviously never finished... might as well i suppose.
Looking forward to that!

Muddy production doesn't make things seem dated, wtf are you talking about? They didn't almost have to go with a "big, slick production" they went with it because they're queers and I hate them forever for being sell-outs.

I hate them forever for being sell-outs lol

Yeah, these guys sold out. Thank god they didnt integrate any keyboards and/or clean singing in the choruses.

Selling out is when a band attempts to appeal to a different, more mainstream audience in order to gain more recognition and, in turn, money.
I can't seem to grasp why anyone would think that going with a cleaner production quality would warrant labeling such a prestigious death metal band as sell-outs.

Eloquently put, very zazzy what my man Zoo said. Full of zazz. It's not like they pulled a Cryptopsy, Pestilence still keep it together and bring da ruckus.
Zazz.

I just want to quote it again because your little temper-tantrum is amusing... I wish there was a picture of you somewhere so I could imagine you stomping your feet and breaking your own toys... then the lol would be complete.

Aw, that makes sense. I've never heard them but if they're trying to emulate old-school death metal then I guess they would shoot for a muddy production to keep things authentic. GO LISTEN TO NMF by Bloodbath NOW!

I will do that later today and report back shortly... although I doubt I'll like it. I'm not the biggest fan of muddy productions.
