Cam, my review comments are always a happy place!
Spamue1, I agree that some of their songs can be over-played, but I never try to blame that on the band themselves. It doesn't help that down under, there is a television advertisement that is currently playing 'No You Girls' before the single has even been released. By the way Spamue1, I asked you a question on your last list.
I think you are confusing them with someone else Undead. As Kane said, they never broke up.
What is your avatar Kane? I can't make it out.

Can't you at least bring in some cynicism and pessimism once and a while...

LOL Jake... I am very unSputnik-like aren't I? I'll try harder to be a prick in the future... Now f*ck off. ;-)
Oh ok Kane, it doesn't really look like him, although it is difficult to tell with the picture size.
Now what have you done to be banned? Hey, I have a defence for you regarding whatever you have done; It's all the fault of the British drinking water!

encouraging trolls :-(
you'll be drinking british water soon enough

You wouldn't encourage naughty trolls, would you Kane? Surely this is nothing but a misunderstanding. Oh well, I guess you will be back to listening to nothing but metal now!
lexicons, ummm, yeah.

Oh yeah, just saw that ![](smile.gif)
Setlist was alright... I reckon they started off really well (I wish State Of The Union was the opener though), and they played a good variety of songs off all their albums. Trouble was that I was stuck at the back of the pit and couldn't move, basically. Some songs (most notably State Of The Union and Survive) were fantastic, and the vocals were really good (I never knew he could scream that high! Don't worry, he doesn't over-scream anything), but they dipped towards the encore.
The encore itself was amazing, two acoustic songs (I can't remember the first one, but Hero of War was the other and it made me see the song in a new light, it was really moving). You can probably guess what the last song was and what I'm gonna say about it, but in case there's any doubt - Prayer Of The Refugee, and it was brilliant ![](smile.gif)
The supports were Flobots, who were energetic but just didn't play good music tbh (apart from a brief cover of Killing In The Name), and The King Blues who were just really samey, but they clearly had fun.
Also, I don't blame the band for the overplay of the songs, but it's just not easy to listen to a song that annoys me, whether or not it's the band's fault.

"Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You wont let me down, down, down!"
Can't believe I missed that gig, did they play my personal favourite 'Entertainment'?

Thanks Spamue1. I have heard of, but not heard, those 2 support bannds. The support down under is The (International) Noise Conspiracy, who have never really done a great deal for me.
I have since looked up Rise Against's setlists & it looks great. My only complaint is that they don't play 'Savior' off of their new album. I also wouldn't mind 'Everchanging' off of their debut. 'Swing Life Away' was the other acoustic song and having that along with 'Hero Of War', 'Survive', 'Audience Of One' & 'Prayer...' as a 5 song encore sounds - dare I say - "brilliant".

Croc, the gig has not happened as yet. It's next Friday. And from what I've seen of their most recent setlists, they do NOT play 'Entertainment'. The setlist actually very much leans towards 'The Sufferer & The Witness' album. And that is not a bad thing at all!
|
| |
Yeah true. but I love entertainment so much!
also, I always regret looking up set lists for gigs. Something about knowing the next song they will play takes a lot of excitement out for me personally. This Message Edited On 03.17.09

Knowing the setlists doesn't bother me a great deal. I prefer to know if some little known early gem gets played so I can familiarise myself with it.
Plus, I usually look the setlists up more for the person(s) I am going with than myself.
|
| |
Thats true about the gem parts. Judas Priest played 'Dissident Agressor' a very old and rare songs and I'm glad I familiarised myself with it, it's a good song.
