Amen. I'm so pumped for the new CD.
And I'm covering City Escape with a band this week for a show. Should be fun.

I absolutely adore this album. To me, it's one of those albums that you can listen to all the way through without skipping a song; Not one. Although, it's best listening to The Dear Hunter all the way through and in order for the story's sake.

It would be awesome if Casey turned this 6 ACT story into a book after he's finished the 6 albums... I
know there's a bit of a book in the deluxe edition of ACT III (which I've ordered and waiting for) but
to make a whole entire book out of the story would be amazing. I would certainly read it the first day
it came out.
Btw, good review, better than most I've read.

I can't wait to check these guys out once I listen to all of the CD's I got for Christmas.

Ehh. The first one was my favorite, and then the third one, the second is the worst one in my opinion... But you and I don't listen to any of the same music so you might like it.

Piecharts are severely misleading. Alot of the bands that are being presented on your charts are rated high by me. Neurosis, Neutral Milk hotel, dredg, etc.
Also, couple tracks in, I like how quirky this is. Oracles has a Cabaret like feel which i dig alot.

This is terrific; much less boring than Act I and much more natural feeling than Act III.

Really glad this is up to a 4.1 now. It's just such a ridiculously solid release. Definitely the best blend of all their sounds. Nothing's overdone, every song has such a unique feel, and every song is good as hell. I want to think this is a 4.5 but I totally forgot about it for awhile. Just listened to it a couple days ago and remembered why I loved this. Might bump my rating after some more plays.

I'm slowly getting into act II... smiling swine is really good, but I'm still finding some of the album boring. now that I know the meanings though... 1 more listen might do the trick. Act I and III are both awesome, III being the bestest.

personal hygiene josh.
i've seen one of those rare one-hour youtube videos of a full dear hunter set, it was pretty kickass. ire you'll probably dig this
|

Did you see them with Coheed?
|
| |
36: get this one its their best, although i;m not sure how much of it will be in their set

City Escape is my favorite song from Act I. I also agree that Act II is their best, but not by too much. See if you can get your hands on The Branches EP, but Act III is pretty solid too. What It Means To Be Alone is a pretty spacy, awesome song.
