You are just retarted for not respecting other peoples taste.
That's what it is about.
I dont mind wether it's technical or not, if I think it sounds good in my opinion. I also dont mind if someone else doesn't like it.
I just like the tunes like Running from the Rain and stuff like that way more then most of the Full Collapse songs.
Good or Bad taste, what makes you think you have the right to judge someone elses taste?

See, as someone without too much musical edjucation, technicality flies over my head. Thus when people are circle jerking over something being technical, I just don't get it. If it sounds good to my ears, it sounds good. The only technicality I can pick up on is drumming, because thats all I know.
|
| |
but i don't enjoy full collapse more than this because it's more technical but because it's actually a better record - it has a bunch of stronger songs with longer lasting power

Not really, I kept getting bored half-way through songs and switching off. Many of them sounded extremely similar to each other as well. I've just never been a fan of that style of music - the same as I can't get into early Thrice.

this review reads more like a 2.5/3.
especially the conclusion

"Now enter, Common Existence, an album deeply rooted into their hardcore/screamo roots "
Sounds like my older brothers thursday.
|
| |
thursday reeeally wasn't all that screamo. they just got a lot of attention with that title when they're clearly post-hardcore
the whole emo/screamo titles got overused hard when bands brought something close to the mainstream

emo/scremo is very far from mainstream

"emo/scremo is very far from mainstream"
Maybe in its purest definition...but when most people were considering Thrice and Thursday "screamo" 5 years ago and they toured together, every show was sold out...that was pretty close to mainstream.

just because "most people" considered them screamo doesn't make them screamo
does that mean obama is a socialist since fox news declared him one?

emo/scremo is very far from mainstream agreed. maybe i shouldve put "something close" in italics ;)
