It's better than fine, it's their second best album, third best release (after DMDS and WLA). Chimera is dull and bland, GDoW is overblown. This has atmosphere, which is what Mayhem are all about. Very curious to see where they will go next without Rune.

Sputnikkers have way too high of standards for production quality. Sure, this album is no Dark Side of the Moon, but compared to a lot of other BM the production really isn't that bad.

I love this album from the top of its reared ugly head to the bottom of its alien anus (suggesting that it doesn't have any legs to stand on in a world full of black metal bands). That said, the album itself i think is glorious. Production is 'interesting' to say the least, but it provides a sufficiently disgusting approach to producing black metal of the rawest kind. Fucking Ace.
