Fuck, I can't believe I hadn't rated this yet. I remember hearing this for the first time as a recommendation and fell instantly in
love with this record. His vocal melodies are great as well as the songwriting.

Great review.. I know what people are saying about the self titled and Roman Candle, I am having trouble getting into them other than Needle in the Hay nothing has stood out for me maybe I need to give them more time. Other than Figure 8 which maybe has a bit too much polish in parts I think the production enriches the songs, the way he introduced other instruments into songs as well as the vocal double tracking were clever and subtle. The songs were beautifully crafted and even the quieter or more sparse songs still have an intimacy about them. Either way he created an amazing body of work.

she loves her indie and knows her post-rock fairly well. i can really only love so much indie it seems. cursive, elliot, the paper chase etc.
but when it comes to post-rock we have awesome discussions.

well, i'm not really from nsw but my friends down here love metalcore so much. i typically hate metalcore and they have no idea what i'm talking about when i talk neurosis. so i'm gonna move back to qld soon hopefully.
