i wouldnt make the cunninlynguists comparison if i was trying to get someone into Scarface. Both southern artists, but from completely opposite sides of the spectrum, as the southern style is not as prominent with Cunninlynguists. Older Outkast stuff, UGK, and early 8 Ball and MJG come to mind as southern pioneers i would suggest to a southern hip hop new comer, with style close to the same level as Face.
I was havin a conversation with a friend about consistent hiphop artists over the last decade.....And besides the obvious--Nas, Jay, Eminem, Outkast, Ice Cube, Mos Def, Talib, and Kanye--Scarface has released a decade plus of albums ranging from solid to classic. People seem to sleep on and ignore his talent tho. Such a great artist who embraces his southern roots and has never really swayed from his original style and flow to change with the current trends in hip hop. His latest effort is another prime example of that. Album gets a solid 4 and could become even better with time, the major factor in an album rating. This Message Edited On 12.22.08

i agree, cunninlynguists are completely different... but he mentioned that he couldn't get into southern hiphop at all, so i was only giving recommendations from the genre.
i'd say, out of all those listed artists, 'face is easily the most consistent. nas and jay are close, but scarface was rappin while they were in diapers.
