I used to be like that, but then I saw them play a bunch of these songs live and I gained a new appreciation for them

I can't believe this, the best Amorphis album by a mile, has a lower average rating than Silent Waters, a mediocre and quite boring album. What a shame.

'Silent Waters is the best thing they've ever done.'
Actually, no, Tales from the Thousand Lakes and Black Winter Day are the best things they've ever done, easily, by far. If you had said The Karelian Isthmus, I wouldn't argue, but everything after Elegy is boring.

Tuolena and Eclipse are awesome though, I can typically enjoy all Amorphis records

Myself as well, but I really hate Amorphis fans enough to watch them react to comments that don't pertain to Shitty Waters being AWESOME.

There are exceptions to the rule.
I still just don't understand the drool over this album.

I dont see how people like Skyforger. That shit is bland and thinned out like a blonde crack whore name Britney.

How so? Rich melodies, good variety in song structures while retaining a nice CONSISTENT vibe throughout. My only problem is the vocalist who can't sing more then two bloody notes.
