the music here is on par with those three you mentioned. some of gilmour's work (particularly in dogs) is just gorgeous, and wright contributes heavily as well.

Grand review. Read the whole thing. Made me late for class. Better get there now...

Haha, your devotion is appreciated.

Thanks chan. I win 100 internets for having a Seinfeld reference and a reference to Turkish politics, in a Pink Floyd review.

I was contemplating putting a paragraph explaining the cover and its background/significance, but I decided it felt out of place.

it'll make the review too long too tbh

yeah, i didn't really want to focus much on the music with this, unless it somehow lent itself to the concept.

yeah, dude, insane review!
I always think it's extremely ironical: Pink Floyd were one of those bands that Punk was invented to oppose their overly thought-out, epic sountscapes. And yet one of the bleakest and most uncomfortable records out of the punk era was recorded by this very band, by progrock "dinosaurs".
I still think Wish You Were Here is Pink Floyd's best work (and actually the best album of all time), but this is quite a close second.

yeah, punk was the new rebellion, but nobody cares about anarchy in the UK anymore. Animals is timeless in that respect.
i love how nostalgic this review makes me feel.
mhm definitely, I heard this album for the first time when I was 14, and it's pretty much the only album I've consistently listened to and loved over the course of the past 5 years.

Damn man, this was an awesome review. I've heard plenty of Floyd but I don't think I've ever heard anything from this album (unless some of its songs are on their live album, Pulse).
