I fucking love this album. The vocals are orgasmic, and I actually like the screams too.

Havent stopped listening to them this past week, and so glad they are back together.

I seriously don't understand why these guys don't get any attention. They are better than so many similar acts in their genre. I wish they'd release another full length. Shit would fucking destroy.

^ agreed man, while bands like dance gavin dance, emarosa and defeater get all the publicity, barely anyone know of this. one of my favorite post-hardcore albums ever

I saw them live last year. There was seriously only 15 people there. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. The drummer is an absolute monster.

Album starts to drag about 4-6 songs in, and the lack of variety makes it blend, adding to the aforementioned dragging effect. This would have been FAR more effective as an EP, in all honesty. They should focus on that jazzy style in the intro OF "Miami Nights". Easily the best moment of the album.

On a different note, the vocalist, on record is great. Live, he is easily one of the worst I have witnessed in some time. I was hurt greatly listening to him falter so much.

I'm some where between a 3.5 & 4.

his singing falters live but he does some impressive screams and there are moments on the album (that retarded breakdown on the choreographer , for instance) where the screams overlap and for a second I thought he was just gonna forgo that part but instead he did this awesome ass inhale

I won't say these guys are the best post-hardcore act around. the first song I heard by them was the weatherman and i actually disliked it . the album opener is a much better introduction to their general sound.

It's the same with their EP, really. It took at least 4 listens before I even started enjoying it. I don't know why. Also the production is better here.

I think they should consider investing in a new vocalist. While I adore him on the album, live his cleans bother me. The harsh vocals haven't ever done anything for me either. It's rather apparent that he couldn't sustain a good enough scream during the recording process, ala, the ever so clever use of distortion over the vocals in production (you know, the same stuff Drop Dead Gorgeous & Chiodos went to as well). Thats just me though. Instrumentally, they are all GREAT live. Spot on even.

I would never say these guys are anywhere near the best in Post-Hardcore right now. However, I WILL say that they are one of the future leaders on the genre in "mainstream" (I use that lightly) viewing, along with bands like Mozart Season, Hail the Sun & A lot Like Birds (etc). Miami Nights, To Satellite & Namaskar are easily the best tracks for someone to listen to for the first time. But it does take time to grow.

I haven't heard the EP, but if the production is WORSE on it, I'm kind of worried. I wasn't a fan of the production here. Not to say it was bad, just rather muddled and squished together. Messy sounding.

I didn't mind the production here, but the EP sounds ... tunneled

I really really like Matt's vocals and I'm not even sure why. I don't mind the distortion on the album but I like the way his screams sound live anyway.
