They should have sticked to Adam D. producing this record. No offence to Jason but Adam just is the best with these kind of bands, he brings out the best in them. Some examples are As I Lay Dying, Unearth and All That Remains previous records. This Message Edited On 09.23.08

I agree. Adam D did a great job, I guess they just wanted to advance their sound. Shame it didn't really work, though.

I dont like the summary. no need to have disappointing and let down in their. One or the other will suffice. Also album is growing on me. I really like two weeks, Chiron and Relinquish although the closer is f**king awful

Yeah, I'm not the best at summaries. Not too many people seem to dislike this album as much as me, but I really can't get it to grow on me like BSOS did. Yeah, it probably isn't that bad until it's compared to their previous efforts, but I think I'm just gonna leave this album for a while, and maybe return to it some time later on.

I saw this in a music store today for really cheap and it still didn't tempt me to buy it.

Mediocre.

Wow, this was so disappointing especially Phil's vocals, they just don't seem so grunty anymore.

^I don't have a problem with him changing his voice, it's just that what he's changed it into lacks both emotion AND energy. There is nothing on the level of This Calling, Not Alone or Six on this album, to name but a few. Plus, his growls here are AWFUL, where they actually sounded good in The Weak Willed. This is a sad time for metalcore, which isn't a genre a entirely hate, thanks almost entirely to Converge, Shadows Fall and All That Remains. Thanks to this album, I'm now very worried about the future of metalcore.

This was a huge fucking let down for me...

It feels like they really had only enough inspiration for one song, which is their first single chiron. It really is the only song that still maintains the same feel that TFOI had. Other than that, everything else seems to be watered-down, uninspired, and designed for one purpose. To appeal to the mainstream. For fucks sake... they have ballads! BALLADS!

The only reason I gave this a 2 was because of chiron, because that song is oh so sweet. Possibly the best song they ever recorded. This Message Edited On 10.12.08

this is a good album. Its tough to come back with a knock out cd that is going to suprise and astound everyone after creating something as great as The Fall of Ideals.

...for having one of the best drummers in metalcore, possible in metal full stop...

are you kidding me!!! Maybe metalcore, but Joey Jordison could outplay this dude with one hand and a foot.

^ Joey Jordison is possibly the most overrated guy on the planet. He really isn't that good at all, Mike Portnoy makes him look like he's just started playing. And seriously, Jason Costa plays songs which are about 150% of the tempo of your average Slipknot song, and plays in faster notation as well. Hell, my friend Ellis who's only been playing for 2 years can do the same as Jordison, and he barely practices!

they're both sic drummers in their own way Jordison isn't in the least over rated, but he could't "Outplay" Costa with one hand and one foot either, they're both nasty.

This album was terrible. The only songs I like were Chiron and A Song for the Hopeless.

Two Weeks was terrible imo
