To Rocksta, based on your musical tastes you might either really like this or really hate it. Personally I'm with the former, Venus in Furs kicks my ass repeatedly.

I'm not a big fan of Nico, or any of her songs on this album.
The rest is gold though.

This is one of the anti-intuitively best albums I've ever heard. I'm addicted to it.

I recently borrowed The Velvet Underground GOLD compilation from my friend, and it's really great ever since I heard I'm Waiting For My Man in True Crime 2 I began to become interested in them. The first time I had a listen to them a long time ago I didn't care for them, but now they've got some really great songs. Pale Blue Eyes is one of my favourites. This Message Edited On 09.09.06

thios is relally good. i had this for awhile but i never knew it was a studio album because it was in a greatest hits case.
|

Though that's mainly Zappa and SD slagging the album off.
And my opinion hasn't changed; VU has pretty much always been boring and overrated

After listening to this album, I actually felt ill, the whole disc tells a story of the stark reality we live in. quite an intense listening experience....wow

Cool that you like this, I listened to it again, but its not as fantastic as I remember it. Still a 4 though.
I really need some more VU, I have this and the greatest hits and it's not enough.
|
| |
Is the greatest hits any good? I'm looking for more by this band dunno where to go next?

Nico's voice is interesting (not good or bad), but Lou Reed truly is awesome, especially on Venus In Furs. So far I'm enjoying this, it's gotten the most play out of my Christmas albums.

Great album. 'All Tomorrow's Parties' is a classic, but I think a much-overlooked highlight of this album is all 2:12 mins of 'I'll Be Your Mirror'. Such a cool feeling.

Good review. Heroin may be the best two-chord song of all time.

I really enjoy that song.
This is great so far. I know I'll be listening to it a lot. It seems like when you lay down you would easily space out. This Message Edited On 03.27.07
