[quote=tarik28]it is totally fair to say that you hate those lyrics.

Random? I would like to know your definition of random. I can always count on the f word being dropped by john every minute or so AT LEAST. so where's the random? sounds like they just talk about stupid partying BS

^random bc how they juxtapose with the musical backing. it is fairly random to hear such immature ramblings over well-produced-post-hardcore dominance

Less random, more so stupid.

i think so too
it really surprised me the first time i heard it because i was used to the same old inaudible yelling by jon mess.
this time, at least you could make out some of the lyrics and make sense of them which was pretty cool, no matter how weird the lyrics were.

i actually think the screaming has gotten better from their older stuff, maybe not technicly, but Jon Mess sounds really pissed off and it actually sounds like real emotion (too bad his only emotion is pure intense anger). But it sounds alright cause its mixed in with the other dudes R&B style singing.
Idk, all in all this album was badass.

i definetely agree. jon's screaming actually has emotion. he just seems pissed about everything. sure as hell a step up from the last album.
he sure went out with a bang too, his last track with dgd was people you know, which was just a big diss in general.
good job jon ;)

insane album, they need jon mess back tho

If he's gone then good riddance. ;)
Has anyone listened to all the parts of "Burning Nicotine Armoire" and "Robot with Human Hair" in order? I really don't see what connects the different parts together, but what I noticed was that the music on their EP is just so much better. I much prefer the raw screaming of John Mess on the EP, even though it got a bit irritating, it is much better than the constant cursing that he does on this album. Oh, and Johnny's vocals are really amazing on the EP. So emotional and passionate, i'm disappointed that he is gone.
DBM > EP > this

John Mess hasn't quit. So during their most recent tour. John had to sit out, due to his " Lyme Disease" acting up, and draining him literally dry of energy. Luckly he only has a minor case of it. But some of the most common symptoms are Fatigue/ Weakness/ and body aches. Sometimes full body paralysis. He hasn't quit. He loves being in DGD.

Oh, and it's called going to a show and asking anyone in the band a simple question.....

It's like a virus, like everytime I see Minus the Bear (I've seen em about 5 times) the crowd just keeps getting lamer and lamer.

the crowd just keeps getting lamer and lamer.
Hmm.. yeah I see what u mean. Might be true...
But I was at a Rage show in Paris this wednesday, and that was about the 50th time I've been in a rock concert. Best one so far no doubt. I mean, it couldn't have been better. All the 30, 000 people jumping up and down at the same time, singing alone, it was fucking epic.
|
| |
Some ppl in the crowd even burned a flag.. I won't say which 'cause people might get offended again

i actually prefer the new clean vocalist to Johnny. while Johnny was a better singer, the new guy (Craig or w/e) fits better with the faster tempo parts of the song and has a decent scream(wail for precision)

I would call it more of a yelp. But yes I agree with you, he does seem to fit a bit better than Johnny did.
