Amazing bass playing. There's something I dont really like that much about it, though.. can't really put my finger on it.

So according to you arv8s, Nothing original and/or new popped up musically between 1965 and 1985? Are you serious?

It would seem so. Apparently, however, 1986 was a fantastic year for music.

good review. i absoulutly love the material on this album but since it was recorded in like a million different studios and it was done during a 3 different tours, the producing part hurts from it because jimmy made the guitars loud sometimes, or just stuff doesnt sound like it should. this album is great though

yah, Jimmy did tend to over do the studio work. On most magazine tabs of Stairway to heaven, there are at least 7 guitars used.(yesss, I know stairway is not on this album)
Am I the only one that thinks the slide guitar part on Whole Lotta Love is annoying.
But tight review though, Pchyaa!

I like the production on here. It's not as fancy as say, Presence with it, but it's in your face and shit, which is exactly what was needed for this album.

Physical Graffiti's production was better, though.

This is the best of the first 4.

All the songs are great. Just one disappointment. Living Loving Maiden is the worst on that album. Everything else rocks.

What does anybody have against Living Loving Maid? That's probably my favorite.

I don't know downpaymentblues, it follows the same formula as alot of the others. If you like "Heartbreaker" or "Black Dog", there's really no reason not to like it. This Message Edited On 04.29.06

Led Zep II i think is better than four simply because i like all of the songs on two and some of the songs on four im not quite keen on. I think the solo in the middle of heartbreaker is overrated, it sounds like jimmys just playing a load of duff notes reeli quikly

LZ II and LZ IV aren't even comparable. For one thing, II was made in 69 and Zeppelin had not yet began experimenting with irish folk and realated music. Essentially, for I and II, Led Zeppelin was a blues rock band. A fancier version of ZZ Top. But as time progressed, as all bands do, they expanded their horizons and almost verged on being pshycodelic. LZ in there latter years are almost a completely different band than the one that made Heartbreaker, Whole lotta Love, and Communication Break Down. You can debate over whether or not their change was for the better. But I think we can all agree that their style has evolved to resemble a style that is nothing like what they started out as.
