lol, i would say that would explain your basic pop punk band. Bemis from Say Anything isn't an extremely attractive dude, but the girls orgasm over him anyway (probably his lyricism and delivery, which is very awesome).

^Bemis hardly even counts; Say Anything is on a whole 'nother stratosphere in music as far as I'm concerned. Bemis= easily one of the best songwriters/lyricists in the last few years.
As for the girls swooning over him, not surprising. I mean everyone talks about how the preteen girls are "stealing the scene" but honestly I've been going to warped tour since 2002 and it's never been much different. Girls will always go for rocker guys with neat haircuts and emotional lyrics. It isn't really a big deal to me, I mean I'd rather them listen to this stuff than like, "pop pop" trash with no value whatsoever, even if they're listening to it for the wrong reason. As long as they aren't screaming every lyric in my ear in a shrill, high pitched voice for an ENTIRE F*CKING CONCERT (are 13 year olds even ALLOWED to say "closing the god damn door, no?" over and over?).This Message Edited On 06.30.08

Yeah, it's just really become inevitable; kids become exposed to much more maturer things every year (music, cursing, birds and the bees, etc). Honestly though, if their gonna listen to Taking Back Sunday or Senses Fail, it's better than listening to Soulja Boy.

Exactly, this is what I tell my "scene" friends every show we go to.

Personally I enjoy both bands, but only to a certain extent (Senses Fail being a non-guilty, guilty pleasure).
You can't really blame people for liking decent music, you can only wish that they don't listen to completely uninspired bull**** and that they expand their tastes for their own good.

^Totally agree. And don't ever feel guilty about Senses dude, they rule.

Yeah, Senses Fail pretty much got me into the genre.

Ah, Story of the Year and blink-182 both got me into the genre; fell in love with their singles in the same two week span, and bought blinks self-titled and Page Avenue the same day.

Blink-182 and Green Day were a few others that introduced me to the genre. Story of the Year can write damn good singles and some decent songs that aren't singles, but just haven't really done too much that really impressed me now that i look back on it.

^Yeah, Green Day came shortly after. I agree on SOTY, actually. They're pretty inconsistent. But Page Avenue was their best and at the time I thought it was the mo-fo-in shiznit. It still has some great songs.

Until the Day I Die pretty much had a cult-following.

^Yup, that was the single that made me wanna buy it. I also like the first song, the title song, and a few others scattered throughout the album.

Page Avenue just lacked in some areas, but it's solid nonetheless.

people always make fun of me for liking taking back sunday. one of my friends was talking about me to someone i don't know and described me saying "he likes a lot of good music, and he isn't even ashamed of admitting he likes sh*tty music too" haha but yeah my favorite pop/punk band would probably be the Starting Line. their early stuff is really awesome. their new cd is kinda lame but yeah

^too bad he meant it sarcastically.

no, i think he was being serious seeing that he gave a popular band a "great" rating

wait, what does =/= even mean. i misread that and thought it meant "popular equals shity". so therefore thought he was being sarcastic. and that the other guy thought he was serious.
whatever fuck it nm.This Message Edited On 06.30.08
