album was great at first because of ara batur and the first few songs

then got boring

then grew because of the second half of the album

then i almost forgot about it

then it creeped back into my head and now i realize this album is one of those albums that will probably stay with me forever because depending on my mood a different part of the album appeals to me

(much like ( ) for me, sometimes i only wanna hear the first half, sometimes just the second half, sometimes just certain songs, but i have never stopped loving that album since its release)

This album got a lot better after letting it sit for a while.

I've only heard Gobbledigook off of this, and I enjoyed it immensely. I need to get this in a bad way.

Hate to be like this, but the instrument featured on Inní mér syngur vitleysingur is a vibraphone, not a xylophone.

Fairly certain its a glockenspiel.

It's wonderful, either way.

Upon closer listening, I think it's both. It has the high pitched tone of a glockenspiel, but it's also got the lower tone of a vibraphone.

2nd track is still my favourite, by far. Ara Batur and Festival would both be so much better with a little less excess. While I agree they are both beautiful songs in their own right, it wouldn't have hurt to cut out a little fat.

Damn good review! I'm just looking to get into Sigur Ros, is there any recommended starting point? I'd be happier for more vocals, but not at the sacrifice of too much quality.

Doesn't matter too much though, just a good starting point would be nice. Again, great review. Probably one of the best I've seen in quite a while.
