the ending of ara batur is probably one of the best things sigur ros has done. full album is hovering around a 4 so far. it might be a grower, as most of sigur ros' albums have been for me. This Message Edited On 06.17.08

Despite Ara Batur's incredible climax, the most enjoyable song on the record is definitely Inní mér syngur vitleysingur for me.

This is by no means a classic, but yes it is very good. The first few up-tempo songs in particular are just so breathtaking. The big problem with ( ) and how good it was, was that everyone took Sigur Ros way too seriously and they got lumped with the "pretentious" label. Hopefully this will cure people of that =p

Well, folks I know tell me that writing a record with no lyrics, "random high pitched vocals" and solely containing "funeral marches" is pretentious. I don't see it the same way clearly =p
