Whoa, an unjustified neg. I suppose there would be one out of 135,000 people who viewed the review didn't like it.

Considering I've only ever heard one or two of their old hits (mainly Pretty Fly For A White Guy)...and their new single Hammerhead, I'm certainly intrigued. Personally, I doubt they'll pull off the ballads, but I'll give it a shot anyway.

This is a great album and it doesn't grow down on you. I liked that ballad a lot to although the lyrics are kind of meh.

no, do not listen to this guy, he has no idea what he is talking about. the offspring have never been pop, until now. every song is not their style except for two, and there not that good. they sound like all the mainstream pop garbage on this album. they're still my favorite band but listen to Ixnay and Smash. Believe me, i have every album including the two before Smash. Rage and Grace is lame and not on par with all of the other Offspring material. And b.t.w., Splinter was better. By far.

The Offspring have been making pop influenced songs dating back to Pretty Fly. And each album since Americana has had atleast 2-3 songs that tries to over do it in terms of being 'poppy'. At least with this album, the songs blend with each other without over doing it. Though I do agree that some lyrics are kinda lame.

And Splinter did have a chance be a better, even great album. But the lack of effort showed in an uneven mess and how short it was.

Good review by the way
Thank you :D

I don't know if it's just me, but the into riff in the track Rise And Fall sounds a little like American Idiot...

Decent album though.
