nah man. "evidently" is vague. when you say "Pinkerton is evidently a better album" you are basically saying "the general feeling is that Pinkerton is better, so it must be true"

VeryPleasantNeighbor is simply saying it IS.

I was hoping that this would be a return to form after hearing Pork n Beans, but the album just never seems to go anywhere. Plus, I am really F*cking tired of Rivers having lyrics that tell us how he is different from every other rock star. It's not terrible, not great but just as my rating implies, average. And in the end, it is not as bad as Make Believe, which is a very good thing.

Pitchfork gave this a 4.7 out of 10

They gave Make Believe a 0.4 out of 10

I would agree with both ratings.

It's a weird fuckin coincidence that Weezer would release an album called The Red Album as well as some random Danish metal group called SmaXone in 2008. Oddly enough, both aren't that great so far. Still need to listen to this album though.

This album deserves more credit than it gets. It is not the best but i think its a step in the right direction for weezer especially after Make Believe!

yeah I know what you mean, this album is full of good music, but will always get slated by pretentious 90's era weezer fans. Get over yourselves.

Yeah people need to realize that pinkerton and the blue album are a decade old and that bands change over the years. I think this album is a good meet between old and new. Though the lyrics on the new album are pretty weak such as everybody get dangerous that song is hideous lyric wise.

Everybody Get Dangerous is probably the worst song on the album.

and if you've heard the whole deluxe version, this album could have been the next masterpiece....if it were widdled down to 10 songs.

This album makes Make Believe look like Pinkerton.
