This album is actually pretty decent. I'm not a huge Green Day fan but it's definitely their best album. The singles are overplayed to the point that I never want to hear them again though.

You call out Green Day and try to pick fights with them by saying really untrue things about them. also, the media overplays this shit so no one will like it after some time and many actually begin to hate it, otheriwse everyone would agree its a great album. Fuck the media

I like this album, i would give this a 4/5. this album takes punk-rock to a higher grade and showing people there are more ways to be punk than just creating fast short easy songs.

this is a punk rock opera yea punk rock, you see the whole message is not to believe everything you see on the news and in the media, Green Day is not anti america because they realize that if it werent for america they could have never done what they love to do

second of all dont say theyve gone mainstream all of a sudden because just about every other album except Warning and their early EP's were Mainstream

another thing is that they have been political for a while songs such as Minority, and Stuck With Me are examples

o and Good Charlotte and what not were trying to copy Green Day and have even said so so dont accuse them of trying to be popular and copy sucky bands

Green day is terrible. All their songs are like based on 3 guitar cords.

nothing wrong with 3 chord rock. alot of bands have done that. i personally think green day sold out but their old stuff which happens to be 3 chords is still good

yes actually they are different now. they totally chnaged their sound to make it poppy(ex-boulevard of broken dreams). and becuz its "cool" now they use way too many refernces to politics

I happen to agree with 1039/Slappy Hours. While not a huge Green Day fan I find it stupid for people to call them sellouts and people have done that since Dooky. My buddy(sort of) who likes rap only(he's a wigger) says their sellouts because they singed to a major label, which is the most fucking stupid thing to say, making it worse, he's only heard stuff from American Idiot. Same thing is happening again to Green Day for American Idiot, granted Billie Joe is taking it to far (ex. Live 8), but they tried something new and it worked out great for them. My dad who is a republican agrees with me about this too even though he hates the band.

I think its stupid for people to say that Green Day is bad (or whatever they want to say about them) just because their music might be different than it used to be. So what if they are more political, i mean really it doesnt make a difference to me what they are like now or used to be as long as they continue to make good music. If people dont like the new direction that Green Day has taken well thats their problem for not liking the music. It bothers me when people say that Green Day has gone "mainstream" as if it was a bad thing. All it really means is that Green Day made their music a little different and a lot of people liked it that way.The people that don't like it anymore get all upset about it over nothing.
