I have this one mate who never fucking shuts up about how everything post Be Here Now is an underrated gem and thinks he's so special for listening to the shitty side of their discography. No, Dig Out Your Soul isn't a forgotten classic it's an average late-career album from a band that had been average since 1997.

Good bloke but god his music taste is just the worst.

I sure hope so, Chelsea have been playing amazing but if they drop points against Southampton and Everton we could have a real shot.

Pretty much became a Spurs fan by your influence Zak, needless to say :D

we don't even have a manager, our attack is non-existent and if we get relegated we'll lose any good players we had left

business as usual for us

Arsenal have hit a rough patch but they're still better than us, I said in December we probably wouldn't win another game and it's looking like it's gonna be that way

I do not get at all why people rate this and (perhaps especially) Be Here Now so fucking low. Both are a hell of a lot more engaging than the two that followed. Heathen Chemistry is their weakest to me, what was even going on with that album? Force of Nature? Little by Little? You goin' Christian Rock, Noel? I don't really have anything against Don't Be Afraid To Tell The Truth or whatever the fuck that other one was called but, Be Here Now is the pinnacle of Oasis just strutting in, not giving a fuck and doing that thing they did. This one's cool and shows the band actually willing to incorporate other relatively modern shit into their music against the relatively "retro act" they'd been tagged as. I think Noel was doing shit w/ Chemical Brothers & 808 State around this time as well? In any case, I've always liked it. Oasis are one of those bands that people just sort of arbitrarily decided that only the first couple of albums were good then just put a blanket of disapproval of anything that came after, regardless of the actual quality

and so ends today's rant :D
