Patton menacingly whispering "The way you look at me when you're hun-gray" is in no way a croon.

John Stanier is a beast, a living rhythm machine.

John Stanier is why I listen to Tomahawk.

It's on par with the S/T for me, great stuff.

Yeah, but Anonymous is their opus.

How does Anonymous differ to this?

Never got into Anonymous very much. I prefer the more direct and straight-into-your-face sound of Mit Gas and S/T. But hey, it's Tomahawk, and I totally dig this band. Hope to see them live sometime.

Anonymous is much more experimental. And it is a concept album in terms of sounds. For some reason, it's a very polarizing
album. It's very rhythmic and not lyrically driven much.

Hmmm sounds interesting; experimental in what sense?

as in its soundtracky native american stuff, rather than alternative metal

Either this is going to take some time or it's a disappointment... really like 'Rape This Day', 'Captain Midnight' & 'When the Stars' (the latter in particular is amazing) but the rest is sort of boring. I prefer the more rock-orientated stuff (with a little invention too) rather than the slower experimental cuts... I guess.

It definitely takes some time to digest, it's an amazing record. Check the debut if you haven't already, it's a bit more straight forward.

I was after some more Patton-influenced alternative rock/metal akin to Angel Dust & that album definitely has an experimental side to it - I'll just keep trying, this certainly has it's moments.

It's getting better, I can definitely add 'Mayday' to my list of engaging tracks.
