It seems i'm one of the few who thinks meteora rocks...
By the way, some arguments are really stupid like, short songs... I've counted it and both albums have both 12 songs (except for meteoras intro, but that's only 13 seconds) and i've come to the conclusion meteora is 3 minutes longer.
Because the number of songs have to do with the length!
Boring, dull, repetitive, short all describe this album wonderfuly. This Message Edited On 03.07.06

Mediocre. Tedious. Boring. Repetitive. Disappointing. = Meteora
I liked Hybrid Theory and I still think its good for a listen, but this album was bad. Granted, I was already getting out of LP when this came out, but I picked it up thinking that LP would take the next step, try a new sound, experiment a bit, write more mature/interesting lyrics/songs or something. However, they did none of these things so I gave this CD to a friend who wanted it for $3. Subsequently he asked for his money back.
Great review. Bad album.

Well, I hate to actually be unique here, but I love this album. Unlike most here, I don't think it's "hip" to always talk shit about a desent and enjoyable album. However, this was the last truly great thing they ever did (as of now).

O yes, why are most people making comments and/or reviews here non-linkin park fans anyway? What buisness do LP haters have reviewing a band they don't care for in the first place?

Maybe cause it is a challange to review an album that you do not whorship?

it thot this was pretty good album but seeing as most of the good songs were already over played on the radio... kinda ruind it for me

I won't say this is a bad review, but it is a S-H-O-C-K-I-N-G opinion. I am totally into LP, cos i had numerous bands i'd listen to for about err... 2 months and than throw away in the trashcan of my pc. But Linkin Park, it showed me what music could be and what lyrics could make you feel. Close to death, that is where most of the lyrics stand, not hopeless love songs but serious songs, which even can go about nuthin'. LP is good, it made me look different at music and made me spend money on cd's instead of downloading ^-^. LP simply rocks... no... metals the world.

these guys call them selves nu-metal, but im not sure, no dont get me wrong i love the band but i think that they are a mixture of: nu-metal and pop, i mean listen to "numb", the chorus is metal, but the verses are pop.

it had its moments. In fact I liked all the songs except for Lying From You and Nobody's Listening (thoug once in a while Nobody's Listening is good to hear)

First off, My criteria for rating this was based purely off a comparision of Hybrid Theory, which, for me, was an the first remotely 'metal' album I was into and just was a crossover album for me. As such, I was thoroughly and bitterly dissapointed by Meteroa.

I wonder if anyone will be genuinely surprised when their third album sounds exactly the same as their first two.

nice rebound from that **** i call Reanimation. still not great, but a step forward. Numb is a good song and Somewhere I belong is as well.

Im going to have to disagree on this, i know we all have our own opinions on albums...and my opinion is that this album was pretty damn good.

If I may say so, 2 of the main criticisms of this album are that 1 it's too short and 2 all the songs sound the same. Have you considered that if all the songs sound the same, it's not such a bad idea not to make the album too long?
As for me, I like this; it was a grower. It was only in the last few songs that they started to branch out a bit from the formula that the vast majority of their songs are based upon. Such innovation as there was on this album I think worked quite well. But I don't really mind all their songs sounding the same either because I happen to like this sort of thing.
The review was well written, as well. Considering the popularity of the band, a score like that might be considered something of an anomally, but as the points were backed up with substantial arguments, Damrod can't be accused of talking out of his rear end.
