So, I've got whole Nightwish discography in exactly the same time and I must say this was my favourite album for a long time..now I think Once beats it and Dark Passion Play is exactly as good as this, but .. first two songs are truly superb ^^ But then the album loses his magic and it has too much fillers for me However, still great.

Nah, there's a few filler tracks...or at least a few that aren't up to par.

Tyr are a better band than Nightwish. They're not really all that similar but are the kind of band Nightwish fans would like.

comparing Tyr to Nightwish is like comparing Opeth to Pantera. Nightwish aren't even viking metal. Tyr is good at best, but they fall easily to Vintersorg and others. Case in point, Tarja ftw.This Message Edited On 09.09.08

Yeah, it is a bit of a silly comparison but I dunno Tyr seem like the kind of band a Nightwish fan might like (I'm aware that they're different genres). And yeah I know Tyr aren't the best viking metal band at all aha, but they're who I'm listening to atm.
Err, look at Tarja now, her solo stuff sucks.

Many people seem to agree with that, not me though. I personally like most of her new album, starting with Sing For Me, The Reign, and Lost Northern Star. I have to say that it drags on too long, 21 tracks is brutal but not in a good way. Like what somebody else said on another Nightwish thread, Tarja and her band could easily pull off the Nightwish stuff better live than Annete era Nightwish could. The band is pretty basic and replacable, except for Tuomas but quality keyboardist's are a dime a dozen.

I actually prefer Annette to Tarja when it comes to Nightwish, although Planet Hell is a face ruling song. I agree that most of Nightwish are pretty much replaceable though.This Message Edited On 09.09.08

Dio probaly could, not just because he's fucking Dio but Emmpu doesn't do much. He is on the Finnish guitar hero based video game which is pretty badass. I don't usually enjoy vocals like Marko but he is pretty good.
