The ending of Dante's Inferno is one of the coolest moments in music for me.

This is by far my favorite Iced Earth release. I absolutely love the darker tone the music has throughout the entire album. There's not much else to say other than Dante's Inferno blew my fucking balls off!

This is the best thing that they ever did. Too bad they can't seem to pull it off anymore.
|
| |
It would seem that Jon decided to go a little more spiritual with the releases after this one. I wonder what would happen if he did try to write a dark toned record like this again.
With Matt being back on vocals, it's entirely possible to recapture that magic, but I am probably just fooling myself.

Something Wicked This Way Comes and Glorious Burden are better than this imo.
|
| |
You are fooling yourself. Jon seems capable of two kinds of songs these days - generic metal and cheesy ballads.
|

I have some hopes since they're finished with that silly two-part concept. I wouldn't be completely surprised if Schaffer pulls himself and the band out of the mud, but I'm not counting on it. This is indeed their best. SWTWC was great as well, and enjoyed some of the work they did on The Glorious Burden, but their albums are always samey-sounding. I hardly listen any Iced Earth anymore though, time to pull out some songs again.

those last two albums were painful to listen to, im glad there over. this is a awesome album tho, one of there best
|

Great band, but I mostly favor the first and last track on this album for some reason. All of the tracks are great in my opinion, but I just remember Dante's Inferno and the title-track the most.
|
| |
sick album, just reviewed Night of the Stormrider and its great too.

/shameless whoring
the two bookends are fucking monsters on this album though - if the middle of the album was as strong as those this would no doubt be a 5/5 from me.
|
| |
I'm not really a fan of power metal, but this album is undeniably awesome.
|
| |
yaeh
|
| |
Dantes Inferno is probably the best Power metal song ever
|
| |
Dunno if it's the best, but it's probably one of the creepiest.
The whole album proves that power metal is not always happy and flowery.
|

Dantes Inferno is probably the best Power metal song ever
lol no
|
| |
lol yes
Edit. Ok fine, that IVE ever heard.
|
| |
I agree with Hans on this one, I couldn't imagine one hitting the spot more than that.
|
| |
This album isn't gay enough for Poet to love.
|
| |
No I actually love Iced Earth but this is definitely not their best
