Because it's a review of the album, hence a forum for people to give their opinions on whichever album is being reviewed.
']Wow there really are some haters on here... but then if you dont like Linkin Park.. the the **** are you posting here.... go and give (insert yuor favorite band here) a big.. fat blowjob and leave the LP fans alone (yes im one of them), and before i get told to listen to some 'real music', consider, im a tool fan.. im a deftones fan... and if i can relate to Linkin Park over say Led Zeppelin then so be it... but that dosent give any of you a right to flame fans because Linkin Park are sucuessfull...
I think most of the time when a band goes very popular, people loose their balls and **** off elsewhere... only the real fans stay and put their neck out ready for flames from people who ALL OWN THE ****ING 1st ALBUM...
Whos the real sell-outs there... O_o...
Since when does a band have to be successful to suck? I'm just venting my hatred of LP because their popularity has made their mediocrity more noticeable, and it brings down the level of popular rock music as a whole. THAT'S the problem. No talent, no lyrical originality, and they dare sell millions of albums? Not on my watch!

First off, everyone has made a respectable point. And yes HT was better all around. But im going to get shot for saying that "from the inside was my personal favorite on the cd, where Hit the floor was my least favorite. Call me what you will, i prefer their rock based songs. It however is sad when I, a lowly peon of the guitar world whos been playing for two months, can play almost all of their guitar riffs.

See, I think people look upon their music diffrently then how LP intend it... Yes Pheonix sucks as a bassist.. where the hell is the bass in their songs O_o;;.. and the guitars.. jeez..
What matters is the end product... the overall sound of the songs, Chesters singing (if you call it that)... the turntables... etc, its all balanced perfectly (on HT at least) and thats what makes them popular..... There easy to relate to.. the guitar(s) are easy to listen to... as a whole their talented... but (as reanimation proved) pull some of them out and it all goes very wrong...

hmmmn HTwas way better then Meteora. Ppl say that LP should have more metel in them, for me I am not so sure, most of there experimental computerized songs rock. Only song I liked in Meteora was "Somewhere I belong".
1/5 for me. Very ppor attempt of macking a better album then HT

hybrid theory was a good album when you first heard it, i thought, but meterora just seemed like a clone of hybrid theory. there wasnt really anything to get excited about, and to me it was just another bland nu-metal album
2/5

I'm sorry, but Linkin Park is a prime example of why mainstream rock is a joke these days. Generic music, annoying vocals, the only thing they have is good production value. Just because numerous 13 year old suburban mall-dwellers don't know what music is and buy this album millions of times over, doesn't mean it's good by any means. Nu-metal will die, the band that will destroy all the crap is coming.
|
| |
^But the fact that millions of young, musically inexperienced teens buy the album also doesn't mean it's automatically bad. That's pretty much the point hybrid was making.

I think you wrote a really accurate review Hybrid. I agree with everything you had to say. Well done. :thumb:

LP is the band that got me into rock. not just because of that, i love both of their albums. i have to say, ive found myself listening to HT alot more than meteora. i just think that on meteora, the lyrics are all focused on desperation rather than the angrier sound of HT. theres no runaway on meteora. past that, i think this album deserves a 9.5/10 because the only flaws are the lyrics (at some places) and easier to run.
|
| |
look, if Linkin Park is the best modern rock now, then i think all the untalented rappers who say that rock is dead are right, and also all the songs on meteora sound the same lyric wise.

This album pales in comparison with hybrid theory. THere are few execptions: Don't Stay and Faint are excellent songs, but the rest of the songs on the album just dont stand out liek the ones on hybrid theory. Also, the song lyrics all start to sound the same once you get into the album, which is probably because the anger and emotion in their lyrics is what made them so appealing to begin with. Unfortunately, it starts to get old in Meteora. It was a dissapointing album, which is really too bad because Linkin Park has a lot more talent than people give them credit for.

no need for every body to get all offensive about a band. Im not a big fan of linkin parks work, but i dont go around dissing the people who like them. Lets just say their not the best band, but not the worst band, and anyone who says that theyre the worst needs to be b!itch slapped and told to explore more music genres except metal. There are plenty of other bands that i can think of that are much worse than LP.
^ Interesting, you know the name of a bassist who makes less noise than Helen Keller on this album.
How do you not hear the bass? The production os top-notch and all of the instruments come in crystal clear. Unfortunatly thats all it has going for it pretty much. Unless your talking about the actual playing of the bass (and possibly the other instruments) well then... wrong band.

I tend to have a hard time noticing the bass if all it does it play the root notes. I need variety!

Yeah his point was that Phoenix adds nothing to this band, not that it's literally not audible
Breaking the Habit is the only good song on bass they have, and that's only because it's not following the guitar, for once

I'm a huge LP fan and Hybrid Theory was the CD that got me into rock music. HT was an amazing cd and nothing that they make will compare to it but I thought most songs on this one were all pretty solid. The reason they are doing so well is because Chester is a great singer and Mike is good at rapping. Brad, Rob, and Phoenix may not have the most talent but they make music that sounds good and is easy to listen to over and over. If your a Linkin Park hater, I dont know why you would even think of being in a thread like this.... and I dont know why you would hate Linkin Park, theyre one of the best bands out there right now.
If anyone lives in southern ontario and is looking to start a band, contact me.
