So what are you going to do, ask this in every single review? You don't seem to have a clue, but I'll help you out by saying it's probably not Sublime. At least, not on this album.

No, doesn't sound too much like them. Something he'd have no problem singing though, perhaps a cover?

Good song by song review. Jailhouse is the best track! you kinda dogged that one, but nice job anyways.

Great review.
I think "Under My Voodoo" gets boring after a while. But it does demonstrate how Brad had perfect pitch.
4/5 for me.

Great review YDload, I agree with you about Under my Voodoo, it's a great song, and the guitar work is almost classic rock-ish. Much too underrated.
It's incredible how Sublime encompasses so many genres at once, it's fun, inspiring and just damn cool.
I feel that the Ballad of Johnny Butt could've been given a better rating, it's a compelling story put in a short song, and it truly exemplifies Bradley's ability to pursue a narrative in song.
IMO, Paddle Out is the weakest song on this album as opposed to Doin Time or Johnny Butt, ...to each one's own right?
It would be cool if you added a bit more to this review, and give those who haven't listened to Sublime more description about each song. But I definitely like how you moved through the weaknesses and strengths of each song. This Message Edited On 10.31.06This Message Edited On 10.31.06

I'm loving santeria right now. In fact I woke up at 8:30 this morning, didn't go to college and learnt it on guitar instead :D

Santeria is a really good song. I haven't listened to any Ska Punk in ages, it felt good to hear that.
|
| |
santeria is a classic
|

Under My Voodoo is better than Santeria FYI

Actually, YDLoad, Jailhouse is a cover from an Marley and the Wailers(http://www.google.com/musics?lid=FxPPKzpSLj&aid=53YC6821hBO&sid=KHL3dU6YV4E)

this album is truely Timeless...I would give a whole lot to be there and hang out when they were writting and playing this stuff.
somebody said something about how the lyrics on santeria are ironic and depressing because they forshadow his use and overdose on heroin...go listen to the acoustic version of Pool Shark for ironic and depressing.
lyrics:
Lying in my plasic bed,
thinkin' how things were so cool to me
My baby likes to shoot pool
I like lying naked in my bedroom
Tying on the dinosaur
tonight it used to be so cool
Now I've got the needle
and I can't bleed, but I can't breathe.
Take it away and I want more and more
One day I'm gonna lose the war.
I don't when he wrote it, but how's that for a depressing prophecy.

Amazing album, one of my favorites on car trips. Brad Nowell died too soon.
