I also wanted to check out Dooom by Worship. I tried to download it one time, but my computer blows so it didn't work.

I don't dig this album much. Subjectively for me a 3, objectively a 3.5 (seeing that it seems to very popular).
It just isn't as dynamic as their later works.

Listening to this right now for the first time in a really long time. This used to be my favorite Immortal album, but At the Heart of Winter and Sons of Northern Darkness passed it up.

I love the production on this.
This could grow to be a favourite.

Eh this comes after Sons of Northern Darkness and At the Heart of Winter for me. This was my favorite for a long time though.

oops it's not easily their best, At The Heart Of Winter comes close but this is grim and frostbitten and frozen by the icewinds

Yeah it is dude. This is definitely one of the best albums to come out of the early Norwegian black metal scene.

This is Immortal's best album IMO, and the only one I really listen to these days.

The riff in the middle of the title track sounds like the Empire theme song in the original Star Wars, just saying.

Finally got round to listening to this (listened 3 times in a row) and don't get me wrong it's a kick ass album. But does anyone else get the feeling that they just want the guitars to be a notch higher in the mix. The riffs on here are awesome but end up getting drowned out by the drums and vocals at certain points. Although it isn't that bad because the drums on this album absoloutley slay.

moaning about production on a black metal thread itt

I know it sounds like i'm moaning but the production on this album is pretty good really. It's just some of the riffs are just THAT good, that when you get about 2 bars of it and then it's lost under the blasting sections (which themselves are awesome) you just want to be able to hear it still. But the albums production does work well with the lyrics and concept which is what makes this album so good.
