enjoying this way more than I'd thought

i like a dose of goth theatricality, the fun bombastic nature's antidotal to teh monotonous tendencies of metal, plus the longer tunes are paced really well, not just a novelty album

Fair enough. If you start from the beginning, start from the actual beginning. There is a collection of their demos and first EP that the band re-recorded, so they technically come before this album. It's called Under Satanae.

ah interesting! i'll keep that in mind. re-recording demos is great wish more bands did that. oh and learning rotting christ started as a grindcore band was crazy lol

@Hawks: Under Satanae is more black metal than this, but still super experimental.



@Futures: I didn't know that were ever grindcore. That's crazy. They definitely didn't carry any of that with them into this band.

The tracklist is in reverse order. It starts with the EP and then works backwards from the last demo and ending with the first demo, so the songs get increasingly more raw as the album goes on.
