it'll grow on you. This isn't nearly as good as Dummy or even their self titled, but this is still pretty good. Very relaxing. I still think Humming is the best Portishead song ever

Machine Gun makes me do really weird things with my head, which usually results in a headache.

A little too ambient for it's own good, and less impactive than their other work, and definitely a disappointment after waiting so long, but looked at objectively, this is an excellent musical work. Not quite as enjoyable as it could be, but definitely a meaningful and important work.
