when i got this album, it was the first time i had really delved into post-rock, and my ear for music will never be the same. truly an epic album, where you can easily play the same song on repeat for hours and still enjoy it.

my favorite on this album by far is 'Static'

great stuff.

My favorite part of this has to be the introduction to and consequent build up of Sleep.

But yeah, I echo that anyone who doesn't have Slow Riot get it.

^ I kind of used to think the same, but I decided to listen to it one night, the whole way through in bed.

Greatest experience ever.

With Iai on this. Boring and unimpressive I found it.

It's definitely not for everyone. The textures and eons of noise are intimidating granted, but they serve their purpose when the knockout moments come. This Message Edited On 09.25.07

honestly, there is nothing boring about this album. I think it's a matter of personal patience, but even then this album is not boring.

Actually the not enough singing isn't a problem for me. I tend to enjoy a lot the moments in songs by BTBAM (for example) that are just music.

I'm not a GYBE fan, but this album wasn't too shabby, my attention span's just not long enough for this band.

I would say that I also don't get that huge epic feeling when I listen to it. Maybe I'll have to listen to it the "proper" way.

I really wish this album was about 7 minutes shorter in order to be on one CD. Double Albums for Prog Rockers really put me off.

No surprise here.

I think this album has better songs than F#A# standing alone, but F#A# works better as an album. This Message Edited On 10.07.07

If you've not heard any GY!BE before, I'd start with F# A# oo or Slow Riot. The latter is an EP, running only two tracks and a mere nearly-thirty minutes (and for this band, that's short), and the track "Moya" is their best and most concise work to date. F# A# oo is just legendary, and it got me hopelessly hooked. If you like F# A# oo you will love this album, but I wouldn't necessarily start here.
