Wrong after the first sentence. They haven't hit a roadblock. This is what they play.

I can understand people not liking the style or similar songs and structure, but the band does that on purpose. It's not lie this is all they come up with.

After that, it comes down to either liking the music itself or not. Everything else is done on purpose

Josh D., why does it seem you like every generic metalcore band except for Avenged Sevenfold, who are neither generic, nor metalcore?

Seriously, attention needs to be paid.

Are you seriously saying that A7X aren't generic?
They are one of the most generic bands of recent years, after Trivium of course.

This album is not brilliant, but not bad.
Average.

Thanks for the comments, I like to see people not drooling over this album like so many people do.

At least give them credit for not completely selling out like A7X and Atreyu have done lately.

Good review though I don't think this album is that bad.

I really like this album for the first three songs of it I listen to,usually My Curse,Still Beats Your Name and Arms Of Sorrow, then i try and listen to the rest of the tracks, but I can never make it past the first three I choose to listen to.

You may not like Avenged, but saying that City of Evil is generic is completely off-balanced. Their hasn't been a record in 10-15 years that has sounded like City of Evil.

You may not like it, and think it is cheesy and that it sucks, but in no way does City of Evil fit the definition of "generic."

Killswitch in a nutshell: screamed verses, sung choruses, crappy breakdown at the end. That fits the description of dozens of other bands out there.

regardless of your "nutshell" description of KSE I like this album almost as much as I

like TEOH. Its good, their good, end of story.

They're passionate about what they do.

They were amazing live!

they sounded like crap at Warped Tour. Adam D. was trying too hard to be funny. every song sounded the same live, and it got boring really fast

The reason for them sounding like shit was because it was Warped Tour. If it was an outdoor concert, bands like this all sound like shit.

When I first heard of this band, I legit thought that Adam D. was retarded.

He was hilarious when I met him a couple of years ago. The guy doesn't know the meaning of the word 'serious'.

I thought Adam D's badass. That's what Metal needs, humor. When I saw them they put on a great show, it was outside but in a small area so I could see why Warped Tour would be different.

Warp Tour has some of the worst bands all packaged into one gay time. Besides money, I have no idea why a band like KE (who have at least some skill) would ever do a tour like this.

Heck yes. I was almost thinking of going to Warped Tour, but couldn't find one good band on the list.

1.5 seems a bit extreme, but I do like TEoH better.

Pretty much. Despite their unoriginal approach on this album, it is still pretty good. I'd listen to The End of Heartache and Alive or Just Breathing over this any day though. Same with their self titled.

I liked "As Daylight Dies" more than "TEoH" because I listened to this album first. I was very impressed with this album for a period of about 6 months. It was all I listened to until I exhausted myself of it. Now it kind of bores me.

"TEoH" is also very good, but this KSE album will always be memorable to me because it was the album that got me back into rock/metal. BTW, i also think 1.5 is a very low and biased score. It may not be as inventive or as innovative as "TEoH," but that doesn't automatically qualify it for a 1.5 in my opinion.

I actually think "The End of Heartache" is better. It seems a little heavier than "As Daylight Dies". I dont know if heaviness is what you go for but thats what I go for in music. "As Daylight Dies" is a very good album though.
